First morning on my own after a 4-day break for Christmas. Here’s a map of my day;
6:15 - In the Barn
6:30 - Feed breakfast, put hay in paddocks and clean waters, turn out
7:30 - Stalls
9:00 - Make PM feed
Clean up project - grain room cabinets
10:45 - Yoga
11:45 - Feed lunch hay, pull blankets
1:30 - Watch lesson - Betty and Cota
3:30 - Put dinner in the stalls and make up AM feed, fill buckets and turn in
5:00 - Lesson with Karl
8:00 - Night Check
In our lesson:
Karl asymmetry - more left bent
Left hind has more push than swing, and swings out
Right shoulder is dominant and blocks full motion of thoracic sling muscles that allow him to lift under the chest and up into his back (muscles under/around chest/pectorals) because it bears more weight
We can start asking him to bring the shoulders under the center of mass and bring the right shoulder in balance with a soft pressing inside upper seat bone and thigh, rolling in but never holding pressure
