Bent Branderup Clinic Notes
Why do we collect horses? To teach them to carry the rider out of the hindquarter
Moving hind legs forward - think movement, not pace - and under - Stepping under center of mass (withers) - use side movements to teach this
Different shapes that horses should be able to do in nature - have to teach these movements if they have been lost in nature
If you move more weight forward, hind foot should follow (it lands in the middle of point of weight) - using seat, not lower leg - same for side movements
Halt goes through shoulders - shoulder rotates up, pelvis rotates down
Half half influences leg on the ground - influence forward swing when leg is in the air
All parts of body are bound together - none work separately
All leg aids conduct hind legs and correct them
If there is weight in the hand, it has fallen forward and you do not have influence of seat
