Today Sharon Wilse, the creator of HorseSpeak, came for a demo. She teaches the subtle body awareness of horse and human with backgrounds in Tai Chi and Reiki. She showed us how we can observe our horses to communicate with them in ways they understand. In nature, horses move around each other and “talk” to certain areas of each other’s bodies, and their own, to communicate.

Scooping motion with any lead rope or any line rather than just a lateral pull is very effective to reach their pelvis and influence the movement. Greet three times, after that then greet and go away face.

She told me it’s all in the spine and the base of my neck - I think this means I hold tension and anxiety there and that communicates something to the horses.
