Watched Meg play with a few horses at liberty today, and I saw how the most subtle movements are the most effective. The horse is very attuned to your every move, even if he’s moving quite actively himself. Once you can take the step and trust in the energetic connection, you can explore the full range of communication between horse and human.

I let him loose and he didn’t want to run around like crazy, but he went and stood in the far right corner where Cota had peed earlier. Meg and I watched him for about 10 mins and he didn’t move from the spot. So we played a game - I go over and kindly take his spot. He goes and finds a new one, then I go and take it. This is something horses do in a herd and it really connected us. When I put him on the lunge, it felt like fireworks. He had no emotional tantrums and we were so in sync. We let him stop after a few minutes because of how great he was. I established boundaries and a circle.
