Karl was so relaxed in groundwork in our lesson today! We rode in the bareback pad for the first time. I learned about my pelvis - Meg Brough a model of the pelvic bones. 2 seat bones connect to the pubic bone, and these are our “seat feet”. Want to have even balance from front to back, like you’re standing on two feet in your seat. You can shape the direction with your seat feet, and you can use your actual feet to support this.

Less is more. Started with ideas of shoulder and haunches in, by bringing inside seat bone closer to the spine for shoulder in, and inside seat bone away from the spine for haunches in. Bareback helps me feel his limbs and helps me isolate my body parts to influence him. I have a long way to go in finding relaxation in the trot in my body, but it went okay and I had some great moments. So educational and I have a very clear understanding of how our bodies work together anatomically.
