Started to do our lesson at liberty but Karl was very uninterested and making suggestions that he wanted to roll — lowered head, pawing and sniffing the ground. So I decided to start pairing his natural desire to roll with the cue of pointing my whip and finger to the ground and clicking while he’s going down to roll. Try to be on his leg side so you can feed the treat toward the girth area so as to not encourage him to get up to get the treat in response to the click. Took 25 mins but he finally rolled. It’s hard to be close enough to him to give the treat without him getting up.
