Yesterday when I worked Karl on my own he was very resistant going to trot from side position. So today in our lesson we worked on that as well as shoulder-in on the circle and haunches-in on the straight. For the side position - do not let him move me. That’s his strength and I need to not let him make me take a step in any direction - he needs to move his shoulders around me. Keep a shorter distance for the first transitions.

Shoulder-in on the circle helps us not loose the right shoulder, but keep it lifted. In haunches-in, halt and back up at first feel of pushiness to remind him to keep the center of mass back and lift the chest. Can also use halt halts in front to remind him in movement. He had some very correct steps where he took his time and thought about it.

Also working on changing between side position to walking backwards to help get those S-changes on a serpentine.
