Today was our first lesson that Meg never stepped in to work with him. He started off fresh and testy from his day off. I was actually able to influence his body, particularly the shoulders, which is where most of our baggage came from. I was able to stay consistent and clear, and he settled into the work and stopped challenging me. He started to find moments of self carriage in the chest. Under saddle, I could feel when I needed to help him carry his shoulders around the circle and was able to effectively influence them to stay in balance. Tracking right, opening left rein and inside right thigh and knee pressure.
